Spring Fever at Colorado Ski Resorts

Spring has arrived in Colorado and with the warm weather comes t-shirts, sunnies, and awesome events on the ski slopes. From concerts to pond skims, Easter egg hunts to on-snow kayak races, many of Colorado’s 26 ski resorts host events to send the ski season out with a bang. If you’re looking for some spring slope-side fun before hiking season, check out some of these awesome upcoming events at Colorado ski resorts.

1. April 1 — Inaugural Ditchslap Banked Slalom at Eldora Mountain Resort

A $10,000 purse makes up the winnings for this unique timed slalom race event sponsored by 10 Barrel Brewing Company. Snowboarders will compete on a luge-like course for the best time.

2. April 1-12 —USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain

2,000 amateur top athletes from around the country will compete in slopestyle ski and snowboard cross, and half-pipe.

3. April 15 — Kayaks on Snow at Monarch Mountain

At this annual event, kayakers race down Monarch’s slopes, dodging berms, bumps, and obstacles to be the first to reach the finish line at the end of an icy pond at the base.

4. April 16 — Beach’n Egg Hunt at Arapahoe Basin Ski & Snowboard Area

Spring is a fun time at Arapahoe Basin. Friends gather on the Beach (a.k.a., the base area) to hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather. Bring the whole family on April 16th for a massive Easter egg hunt on beginner terrain.

5. April 22 — Springtopia Finale at Winter Park Resort

You know it’s spring when they break out the costumes. Winter Park will celebrate the end of the season with a live show by Michael Franti & Spearhead on Saturday April 22nd. Stay for the annual pond skim on Sunday!
