Crime Watch

Amidst one of the warmest days of the year in the Denver metro on Friday, crime, too, grew blistering.

Police in the metro area responded to four separate shootings over Friday evening, leading to three people injured and one deceased. Going into Saturday, police are still investigating and developing suspect information for each incident.

Denver police first responded to a shooting in the area of South Navajo Street and West Cedar Avenue around 11 p.m. Friday, according to a social media post by the Denver Police Department (DPD). One victim was found with unknown injuries.

Police also responded to a different shooting around 11 p.m. in the 3800 block North Walnut Street. A juvenile male was found injured and taken to a nearby hospital. He was later pronounced deceased around 12:30 a.m., according to a subsequent post by DPD.

DPD announced Saturday morning that a juvenile male had been arrested in the case for Investigation of Manslaughter. Police said the suspect and the victim knew one another.

Aurora police then responded to a shooting in the 11000 block of East 35th Place around 2 a.m., according to a social media post by the Aurora Police Department. A teenage boy was found shot and then transported to a nearby hospital where he is expected to live following serious injuries.

The incident involved two vehicles filled with juveniles and young adults, the department said. The victim was shot during an argument.

The victim's vehicle had two young adults and one younger juvenile in it, but no one else was injured during the shooting.

The final shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the 4600 block of Peoria Street. Denver police responded to a shooting and found a man suffering with injuries. The extent of the injuries is still unknown.

No suspects have been arrested in any of the aforementioned incidents. Both Denver and Aurora police are investigating the shootings and developing suspect information, according to the social media posts.
