Things To Do

This large, heavily used campground is just five miles north of Woodland Park and right along Colorado Highway 67, making it a popular and convenient getaway for families in the Pikes Peak region. It has 64 sites connected by paved roads, with bathrooms and drinking water. The sites are in a thinned Ponderosa pine forest, offering shade but limited seclusion. The sites can be reserved for $20 per night. There are no hiking trails at the campground except the paved Centennial Trail, which runs along the highway between Woodland Park and Manitou Park Lake.

Pro Tips

  • Manitou Park Lake is a great fishing destination. Reach it by driving three miles north on Colorado Highway 67 or biking or hiking on the Centennial Trail.
  • This is a popular campground so be sure to make reservations on summer weekends. If it’s full, try the Painted Rocks Campground, which is a few miles off the highway and gets less use.
  • Fly-fishing enthusiasts will find great opportunities near Deckers, 15 miles to the north of the campground.
  • Recommended season(s): Memorial Day – Labor Day.
