According to USA Today, main streets are "living history, have a vibrant culture, and serve as the hearts of their communities." USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards recently published a list of the 10 best main streets across the United States. Grand Junction's Main Street made the list.
USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice awards highlight the best in everything from destinations and activities to food, drink, and hotels. A panel of experts selects the nominees and readers vote to determine the winners.
Main Street in Grand Junction consists of a variety of shops, music venues, restaurants, art galleries, and year-round street festivals. The area boasts historic buildings, local art, and trails, plus breathtaking views.
According to USA Today, Grand Junction's Main Street is a "dynamic community hub" and "fosters a sense of engagement." The historic Avalon Theatre hosts events and provides an "intimate theater experience."
Grand River Avenue in Howell, Michigan took first place, with historic buildings that house unique shops and local eateries.
