In its 75-year history, Winter Park has grown and expanded to include 3,081 acres of wide-ranging terrain. Whether you are looking for groomers, tree skiing, terrain parks, hidden powder stashes, bowls, technical moguls, or extreme double black diamond terrain, you’re bound to find it in one of Winter Park’s seven distinct territories. Less than 70 miles from north Denver, Winter Park is one of the closest major resorts to the Front Range. Averaging 29 feet of snow and 300 days of snow annually, expect several bluebird days with breathtaking snow covered views overlooking Fraser Valley.

Pro Tips

  • If moguls are your thing, look no further than Mary Jane. You’ll quickly catch onto the mountain’s motto “No pain, no Jane”.
  • Want to improve your mogul technique? Winter Park offers a six-hour mogul specific camp called “Bob’s Bump Jamboree” offered four times throughout January and February. Price for the camp (includes lunch): $119.
  • Looking for a challenge? The Cirque Territory offers 399 acres of un-groomed, extreme double-black terrain within patrolled boundaries. Hike or take the Cirque Sled to reach this territory.
  • After a long day on the slopes, nothing beats a Moscow Mule from Deno’s Mountain Bistro.
  • If you’re looking for untouched snow, days after the last snowfall, ride along the boundary lines of the Vasquez Ridge territory.
  • Winter park offers snow cat, snowshoe, and ski bike tours (for a cost), and free-guided mountain tours.
  • Beat the lift lines and westbound I-70 traffic by getting first chair or arriving to the mountain before 9:00am. Head out by 2:00pm to beat traffic the other direction.
  • Recommended season(s): December to March.
