The northern Colorado ski resort Granby Ranch has become known in recent years for affordable, family-friendly skiing, but it was known for mountain biking before it changed its name from SolVista. That’s why they had the USA Cycling National Championship here in 2009 and 2010. From late May through early October, you can hop on the chairlift with your bike and have a wide range of trails to choose from, everything from mellow trails for families to steep singletrack that will leave you breathless with excitement.

Pro Tips

  • The bike park is open Wednesday through Sunday May 26 through September 4, then weekends only through Oct. 2.
  • The course is occasionally closed for competitions, so be sure to check in advance.
  • If you need rentals or repairs, there’s a shop with bike experts at the ski area.
  • Recommended season(s): Late May – early October.
