Although it may seem daunting, cooking while camping can be simple if you have a solid plan. From breakfast to dessert, here are ten meal ideas for camping that will make your experience less stressful and more delicious.

1. Omelet in a bag

Not only is this a delicious breakfast, but it's very easy to cook and clean up. You'll add all the ingredients into a boil-safe bag, then cook it in a saucepan of boiling water.

2. Pancakes

Pack a box of "Just add water" pancake mix for the simplest option. Then all you'll need is your stove and a pan.

3. Campfire nachos

Load up a Dutch oven with tortilla chips, cheese, salsa and all your other favorite nachos toppings to make this easy recipe.

4. Campfire foil packs

These meals are easy to make and very versatile. You can use any combination of meat of vegetables you want to make them, and all you have to do is add the ingredients into sheets of aluminum foil and cook them over campfire coals.

5. Tacos

For tacos, you can cook the meat at the campsite or beforehand. Wash and prep the vegetables at home so that all you have to do when you get to the campsite is assemble your tacos. Heat up the meat in a pan on a camping stove and set out the toppings so everyone can make their own tacos just how they like.

6. Hot dogs

A camping classic, hot dogs can be cooked over a campfire and can be modified with many different toppings.

7. Loaded baked potatoes

Bring pre-baked potatoes to warm over the campfire and top with toppings like cheese, bacon, sour cream and more.

8. Chili

This is an easy dish to make at home and then heat up, but you can also make it at the campsite. You can use a camp stove or a Dutch oven to make a great batch of chili.

9. Mac and cheese

This meal can be cooked from a box or  with a combo of separate ingredients, and both ways are easy. You can simply make your favorite box mac and cheese with a camp stove or use your campfire and Dutch oven to make it your own way by cooking noodles and adding a homemade cheese sauce – make the sauce beforehand to make it even easier.

10. S'mores

No, s'mores aren't an entire meal, but they're certainly a campfire classic. And all you need are three simple ingredients: graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate.
