Rainbow Falls: A Hidden Gem in Manitou

Rainbow Falls. Manitou Springs, Colorado.

One beautiful waterfall in the Colorado Springs area that’s also very accessible is Rainbow Falls. The falls are located just outside of Manitou Springs and off Highway 24. While many visitors come to check this destination out during the warmer months of the year, some prefer to visit during the winter for a stunning frozen view.

There’s also a bridge that sits above a creek that the falls flows into.

In the past, this waterfall has been known for attracting a large amount of vandalism, specifically graffiti in nearly every size and color. In recent months, El Paso County has adopted several strategies for preventing this from happening in the future.

Due to regular cleaning, make sure that you check for closures before visiting this site. Entering the area while it’s closed is considered trespassing.

*As of when this article was written, Rainbow Falls was temporarily closed due to construction on the bridge and cleaning. Current sources now say that the fall is open from Friday to Monday, 10am to 4 pm until the end of August. Fall hours will then be Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm. These hours are subject to change, so we encourage you to double check before planning a visit.
