The National Weather Service has issued what's believed to be the first tornado watch of the season for Colorado, spanning parts of the state's Eastern Plains, Kansas, and Nebraska.
Wind gusts up to 75 miles per hour will be possible, with hail up to 'apple size' also likely.
The watch is valid through 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Impacted Colorado counties include Phillips, Yuma, Washington, Kit Carson, and Cheyenne. Across all three states, a total of 76,500 people live in the impacted areas, though this also includes a crucial stretch of I-70.
Colorado's tornado season generally takes place from May to August, with roughly 90 percent of the state's tornados occurring during this period. That said, the National Weather Service reports that tornados can occur as early as February and as late as November, with about 53 tornados hitting the state per year on average.
