Double-Chocolate Skillet Money Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 can buttermilk biscuit dough
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 (8 Tbsp) stick salted butter
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • Unwrap biscuits and cut each one into quarters. Add the biscuit pieces to a large Ziploc bag with the cocoa powder. Shake to coat, and add the dough pieces to a cast iron skillet in an even layer.

In a small pan over the fire, melt butter with sugar. Pour the mixture over the biscuits.

Cover skillet with aluminum foil and place over dying coals, where the temperature should be about 350 to 375 degrees. Bake for 5 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the monkey bread, cover, and then cook for another 5 minutes.

Wait to serve until slightly cooled, and then dig in with your fingers.
