A skier died on the Double Dip run at Loveland Ski Area Friday, company officials confirmed Monday.

The female skier "was involved in an incident" about 1:20 p.m. Friday, according to a Loveland spokesperson. Ski Patrol in the area responded immediately, but the skier was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were released Monday.

Officials referred all inquiries to the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Department. Phone messages to deputies were not returned by press time Monday.

"Loveland Ski Area extends its deepest condolences to the friends and family of the skier," according to a statement.
