Denver's former Flagship Food Group not only has a new name but will soon have a new home.

Insignia International — the rebranded parent company of the largest jarred green chile brand 505 Southwestern — is moving into a new building at Centennial Airport, the company announced Monday.

A 30,000-square-foot building on the airport’s south side will be home to Insignia International’s headquarters next to the Wings Over the Rockies – Exploration of Flight.

Alongside its main office, Insignia International announced the building will be home to an après-ski themed food hall and tequila bar with entertainment and live music. The site will also hold a TV production studio.

“We love engaging with the community and sharing our passion for great food,” said company chairman Rob Holland. “The facility is the epitome of this, and we can’t wait for a warm summer day in Colorado where families are gathering to listen to some live music, eat some great food, and explore the wonders of aviation all in one day and all at one convenient place.”

Insignia International operates a variety of Hispanic and Southwestern brands such as 505 Southwestern, La Tortilla Factory and Yucatan Guacamole. It rebranded with a new name and logo to highlight its investments in the quickly-growing Hispanic food market in March as “insignia” translates to “flagship” in Spanish, according to the Denver-based company.

“We felt it was time that our corporate name matched our commitment to this fast-growing industry sub-sector,” stated Insignia International’s new CEO Adam Butler when the company rebranded.

The food hall will offer a variety of food showcasing popular flavors used in Hispanic and Southwest cultures, Insignia International said in a news release. The building’s panoramic views will showcase the Rocky Mountains and the airport runway.

Construction is expected to start later this year and is still subject to approval from Arapahoe County Airport Commission Board, according to the company.

The CEO of Wings over the Rockies John Barry said the new HQ and food hall from Insignia International will help turn the aviation museum and the airport into a “family-friendly campus.”

Airport leaders also have high hopes for what the new food hall facility can bring to the airport.

“We are dedicated to making sure that this airport is an asset to the community in many forms,” said Centennial Airport executive director leader Mike Fronapfel. “And we hope that this project is enjoyed by aviation enthusiasts and the general public alike.”

The only restaurant currently operating at the airport is Perfect Landing.
