A pedestrian was hospitalized Saturday night after getting hit by a car near South Circle Dr. and Winnepeg Drive.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, officers responded to the crash around 10:38 P.M. 

American Medical Response and Colorado Springs Fire Department personnel were also at the scene treating the pedestrian before transporting them to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

CSPD said the Major Crash Team was contacted to conduct an investigation. due to the nature of the crash. The driver of the car remained on the scene and cooperated with officers. 

The investigation is ongoing and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
