Off-roading consists of everything from Jeeps/4x4, UTVs, ATVs, and motorcycles, and is an exciting way to experience Colorado's outdoors.

Here are some great Colorado ATV and Jeep trails.

1. Lizard Head Pass

Located near Telluride above 10,000 feet, this pass will provide stunning views of the San Juan Mountains in the Uncompahgre National Forest.

2. Grand Mesa Trails

This area near Grand Junction offers a variety of off-road trails that cater to all skill levels. The area is filled with dense forests, lakes, and meadows, so it also provides great views.

3. Hardscrabble Special Recreation Management Area

This area is a mix of of ATV and single track on Bureau of Land Management Land. Located between Gypsum and Eagle, the area has become a "trail mecca for both motorized and non-motorized users."

4. Wagon Wheel Trail System

Located in Meeker, this trail system consists of over 250 miles of trails and 16 interconnecting loops in the White River National Forest. You'll get a "wonderful mix of natural and cultural history, with spectacular views, rugged mountain trails, abundant wildlife, and many historic sites. Rio Blanco County and Meeker are also "OHV friendly," meaning they allow OHV travel on city streets and designated county roads.

5. Red Feather Lakes

This area near Red Feather Lakes features more than 100 miles of double-track ATV trails and some sections of single track. According to All Trails, some of the best off road driving trails in Red Feather Lakes include Middle Bald Mountain via Killpecker Trail, Deadman Road, Roaring Creek OHV Trail, and Bald Mountain Road.

6. Central City/Saint Mary's Network

Located west of Central City, the Yankee Hill Road will take you to the Yankee Hill Trail System, a network of off-road trails. It offers amazing alpine lakes and views and miles of trails.

7. Colorado State Forest State Park

Many miles of trails are available at this state park, including opportunities for every level. The area also has plenty of other activities to keep you entertained.
