Skier found dead in trees at Colorado resort

A skier has died at Copper Mountain, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. They responded to the call at 4:45PM. The 63-year-old male skier was found unconscious in trees directly off of a run. The victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

It’s not clear what killed this skier, but the local coroner is investigating. Given the fact that he was found in a section of trees, three feasible possibilities would be a collision, a tree well, or a health problem. The official cause of death will likely be released in upcoming days.

This is the 20th skier/snowboarder death of the season.
