A Colorado craft brewery has closed its doors until further notice after employees and patrons tested positive for COVID-19.

A Monday announcement posted by Greeley's Broken Plow Brewery on Facebook stated that the brewery would temporarily close after learning of positive COVID-19 tests among among its "employees and patrons." According to the announcement, the employees are currently "symptom free and quarantined."

The craft brewery will be deep-cleaned and sanitized before announcing a reopening date. The brewery reports that the COVID-19 positive patrons were present on October 24 and during the past weekend. The last shift COVID-19 positive employees worked was last Thursday.

"With the huge uptick in cases everywhere we find it necessary to take the utmost precaution at this time," the brewery stated in their announcement of the closure.

Restaurants and breweries continue to face challenges of COVID-19 as positive cases spike around the state.

According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, there are several steps that can help reduce the severity of an outbreak:

1. Send employees with symptoms of COVID-19 home immediately for isolation

2. Keep higher-risk employees out of the workplace when there is an outbreak

3. Ensure employees who remain onsite, and customers, wear face coverings

4. Perform enhanced cleaning and disinfection.
