Beer festivals offer attendees samples of numerous brews, and sometimes even allow them to meet their favorite brewmasters, sample paired foods, and learn about beer and brewing.

USA Today's 10Best recently came out with a list of the best beer festivals in the U.S. It's an award program that highlights the best in destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do. A panel of beer experts nominated their top beer fests, and readers voted for their favorites.

The Great American Beer Festival in Denver came in third place. According to USA Today, the festival brings together hundreds of breweries for beer education, awareness of beer trends, networking, research, and the chance to sample from the largest annual U.S. beer selection. The festival will happen Oct. 10-12.

The Barrel & Flow Fest in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania took first place, with 3,000 craft beer industry professionals and enthusiasts.
