As one of Steamboat Springs' most popular destinations, Fish Creek Falls features a 280-foot waterfall.

The area is only minutes from downtown Steamboat. The falls are at their prime during the spring with snowmelt and clear water "cascades down the smooth rocks" in the summer.

A short one-fourth-mile walk will provide guests with a pristine view of the lower falls. A moderate hike leads to the Upper Fish Creek Falls and Long Lake in Routt National Forest. According to All Trails, the trail gets rocky and technical after the first waterfall and is generally considered a challenging route. There's even an interactive trail map.

Yampatika offers hike tours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the summer. The area is also great for summer picnicking and nature viewing. Fish Creek Falls is open year round and the daily hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

This natural sanctuary provides a stunning area for summer adventures, as well as some of the most beautiful views Steamboat Springs has to offer.
