Luis Robles–Luevanos

Luis Robles–Luevanos, 27, was arrested on Friday on charges of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, according to Lakewood Police. He worked at the Creighton Middle School as a coach and classroom instructor.

A staff member at Creighton Middle School is accused of inappropriately touching students during school hours, and police are concerned there may be more victims.

The Lakewood Police Department said Luis Robles–Luevanos, 27, was arrested Friday. He is being held in the Jefferson County jail on charges of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, police said.

Police said the arrest came after officers "were made aware of multiple complaints by male students at Creighton Middle School that a school staff member inappropriately touched them during school hours."

Jeffco Public Schools said Robles–Luevanos was put on administrative leave Thursday.

"He was put on administrative leave after a family in our community came to school and alleged that Mr. Robles–Luevanos had improperly touched two male Creighton students," school leaders said in an email to families Monday. "School staff immediately contacted law enforcement, and the Lakewood Police Department spent all day Thursday at our school conducting an investigation. By 11 p.m. on Friday, Mr. Robles–Luevanos had been arrested."

The district said the administrative leave "prohibits him from any contact with Jeffco students, staff and families."

"Mr. Robles–Luevanos is presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, the process to terminate his employment with Jeffco Public Schools is in progress," the email said. "It is absolutely unacceptable and heartbreaking to us that a student would be abused or harmed in any way. Jeffco’s Title IX team is working closely with Lakewood PD to extend all available support and resources within the district to victims and their families."

Police said they believe there may be more victims in this case. They said Robles–Luevanos served as a coach, liaison and classroom instructor, and worked closely with Spanish-speaking families.

Anyone who may have been victimized or has information that may help the investigation is asked to call the Lakewood Police Tip Line at 303-763-6800.
