The winter season is coming to an end, but that doesn't mean the ski season is over quite yet. Spring skiing offers great conditions, including warmer weather, sunny ski days, and goggle tans.

Here are some of Colorado's best resorts for closing out the ski season.

1. Arapahoe Basin Ski & Snowboard Area

Expected closing date: June 2, 2024

Arapahoe Basin boasts Colorado's longest winter ski season, usually stretching from October to June. The resort has some of North America's highest-elevation terrain, so it's no surprise that it's a great place to head for some late season skiing. During some years, this ski area will be open until July – but it all depends on conditions.

2. Breckenridge Ski Resort

Expected closing date: Sometime in May, as conditions permit and to be announced at a later date

With its base elevation of 9,600 feet and the highest chairlift in North America (Imperial Superchair), Breckenridge provides great spring skiing. Breckenridge keeps intermediate-and-above-level terrain open for late spring operations. The current plan is to operate all five Breckenridge peaks through April 14, closing Peaks 9 and 10 after that. Beginner lifts and terrain are set to stay open on Peak 8 through April 21. Starting on April 28, all mountain operations are set to be based out of Peak 7, though high-alpine terrain will still be accessible on Peaks 6, 7, and 8. Breckenridge plans to continue operations into May, and will keep terrain open for as long as conditions permit.

3. Winter Park Resort

Expected closing date: May 19, 2024

As well as having one of Colorado's longest ski seasons, Winter Park hosts the Spring Bash + Splash to close out the season, complete with four weekends of live concerts, themed parties, and more. Winter Park also offers a deal for spring skiing, in which you can choose any three days to ski or ride for $100 per day from April 1 until closing.

4. Vail Ski Resort

Expected closing date: April 21, 2024

Vail is Colorado's biggest ski resort and as such, has great variety for spring skiing. Skiers can enjoy the mountain well into the afternoon, then head down to the village for the apres ski scene, restaurants, shops, and more.

5. Copper Mountain Ski Resort

Expected closing date: May 5, 2024

Copper hosts a plethora of fun springtime festivities to close out the season, including the annual Sunsation Festival. Sunsation includes live music, parties, and other fun activities.
