The Beaver Fire near the CSU Mountain Campus has reached a size of 85 acres with 25% containment, according to the Canyon Lakes Ranger District, which manages Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland. Recent growth of this blaze from 65 acres a couple days ago was due to a burnout operation conducted by firefighters. This is when firefighters burn pockets of unburnt fuel within the containment area.

Located off of Pingree Park Road, this wildfire has resulted in several closures. See official tweets about these closures below.
