A large avalanche has occurred on Colorado 91. This slide buried multiple cars. Individuals inside of those cars were able to escape after the slide without injury.
This highway is now closed in both directions and is expected to remain closed for “an extended period of time.” The slide covered vehicles on the road roughly a mile south of Copper Mountain.
