Authorities are searching for a suspect wanted in the beating and dismembering of two dogs earlier this week in Teller County.

According to the Teller County Sheriff's Office, the man suspected of killing his roommate's two dogs is 30-year-old Matthew Stephen Dieringer from Pueblo. He is now facing felony animal abuse charges.

Dieringer allegedly beat his roommate's brown 7-year-old Australian Cattle Dog "Suka" to death. He is also accused of killing and dismembering his roommate's black dog "Hayoka." A necropsy confirmed that Suka died of blunt force trauma.

Authorities have not released a motive in the killings. The suspect remains at large and was last seen in the Manitou Springs area. He may have also dyed his hair a darker color.

If you see Dieringer, call 911 and do not approach him. Anyone who has more information on this case or any other details about Dieringer’s whereabouts is asked to call Officer Trixie Hudspeth at 719-687-9652.
