A new wildfire broke out in northwest Grand County on Wednesday afternoon amid bone-dry conditions, fanned by strong mountain winds that topped out at more than 100 mph in the same region of the state.
The Grand County Sheriff's Office says the new blaze is located northwest of Bighorn Park and Hot Sulphur Springs near Parshall. As of Wednesday afternoon, no structures were threatened by the new fire, which is reportedly burning in rough terrain.

Several agencies are responding including the Grand County Sheriff's Office, Bureau of Land Management, Hot Sulphur Springs Parshall Fire Protection District, and Kremmling Fire Protection District.
Dangerous fire weather conditions continue in much of the state, including but not limited to the San Luis Valley, the Sangre de Cristos, the Wet Mountains, the I-25 corridor and the southeast plains.
Wind gusts as strong as 104 mph were reported by the National Weather Service on Berthoud Pass Wednesday morning.
