Mountain-town police are searching for a black Volvo SUV with Texas plates after witnesses said they saw an unidentified driver flee the scene of an accident at a popular waterfall attraction.

The crash happened at the Bridal Veil parking lot in Telluride on Sunday at about 7:15 a.m.

At 365 feet in height, Bridal Veil Falls are the tallest free-falling falls in Colorado. Hikers, mountain bikers, four-wheel drivers, and ice climbers are attracted to the popular waterfall destination nestled outside the historic mining town of Telluride.
