The oldest commercial hot spring in Ouray offers three soaking options. The Wiesbaden’s outdoor swimming pool is open to overnight guests and day soakers, and the private soaking pool – the Lorelei – is available by reservation. Inside, step into the vapor cave for a hot steam and soak, and ask about spa treatments which may be administered at the onsite spa or in the vapor cave. The seventeen-room lodge houses several suite configurations, and a cottage and two houses in Ouray are also available for reservation through the Wiesbaden. This hot spring establishment prides itself on the purity of its waters, so there are no additives, chemicals, or chlorine added to the waters and soakers must shower and shampoo before entering the pools. Day soakers are welcome, clothing is required, and smoking, smokers, and pets are not allowed.

Pro Tips

  • Summer hiking trails abound in Ouray. The Ouray Perimeter Trail circles the town in a 5-mile loop, and the Lower Cascade Falls Trail leads to a waterfall. Both are accessed from downtown. For a longer hike, drive to the Upper Cascade Fall Trailhead located at the Amphitheater Campground and hike past a waterfall to the Chief Ouray Mine.
  • Ouray is known worldwide for its annual ice climbing festival, but the town celebrates winter for seven weeks leading up to the festival with WinterFest. From Thanksgiving to mid-January, check out the tree lighting, live music, a parade, skijoring, ice skating and more. This is the off-season for hot springs and some offer discounts.
  • Recommended season(s): Year-round.
