A seasonal, Olympic-size swimming pool and year-round hot springs soaking pools provide the people of Durango and visitors alike with a family-friendly spot for an afternoon or an overnight stay. In the summertime, come for a soak or a swim in the big outdoor pools and grab lunch at the snack bar, or bring a cooler with your own food. Relax on a lounge chair or bring a beach blanket to lie on. Trimble Spa & Natural Hot Springs offers spa services, and spa patrons have access to a sauna and outdoor whirlpool bath. For overnight stays, reserve the Starlight Room for couples or the Trimble Guest House, which has two bedrooms. Clothing is required and smoking and alcohol are not allowed.

Pro Tips

  • This is a beautiful part of the state and deserves a weekend or more of your vacation time. Take advantage of one of the many overnight accommodation options in Durango, from seasonal RV and tent camping to year-round cabins.
  • The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad historic steam train is a must-do adventure for a ride from Durango to Silverton and back or for a special event like the holiday Polar Express. The train travels along the Animas River and into the Weminuche Wilderness. Book early, and bring some cash or a card for snacks en route and shopping in Silverton.
  • In the summertime, book a rafting trip on the Animas River and in winter book a snowmobile excursion in the San Juan National Forest. Enjoy the beauty, but wherever you go in Durango, dispose of your trash and leave the place as pristine as you found it.
  • Recommended season(s): Year-round.
