Things To Do
There are few places where you can find better snow than Steamboat’s trademarked “Champagne Powder”. It’s the crème de la crème of Colorado ski snow. This light, dry, fluffy snow is hunted by powderhounds from all over. Come to tear up the expert chutes, perfectly gladed trees, and advanced terrain. Not only do seasoned skiers and those who love it steep and deep revere this mountain, but Steamboat has also been recognized as the “Premier Family Ski Resort” by Jetsetter and has ranked within the top 10 family ski resorts by SKI Magazine and Forbes Magazine in the last three years. With something for everyone, nobody feels left out. What sets Steamboat apart from other ski resorts (besides the famous snow and terrain) is the town. Steamboat Springs is a lively community of 12,000. Locals help create the culture of love for the mountains and stoke for skiing—the town doesn’t manufacture magic for the sake of tourists. Steamboat provides an authentic experience of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The fun doesn’t just last through the winter: when the snow melts and the weather changes, a whole different mountain emerges that provides just as many adventures as during the winter—and strikingly gorgeous views.
Recommended season(s): The Champagne Powder comes all season long, but most big storms are in March. But, early season snows as well as warm spring skiing both offer amazing experiences as well.
