Things To Do

Grace Falls are the fifth and final waterfall you’ll find along a 12-mile out-and-back hike in Odessa Gorge, Rocky Mountain National Park. To reach the trailhead, drive .25 miles from the Beaver Meadows Entrance Station in Estes Park, turn left onto Bear Lake Road, go 1.25 miles and then turn right toward Moraine Park Campground. Drive .5 miles and turn left onto Fern Lake Road and continue 1.5 miles to winter parking or 2 miles to the summer lot at Fern Lake Trailhead. Hike the trail 5 miles to Odessa Lake. Hike around the right (west) side of the lake, cross over boulders and a creek to a grassy area at the base of the falls.

 Pro Tips

  • This is a big day so get to the trailhead early, dress for changing weather conditions, and pack snacks and lots of water for the long hike ahead.
  • Keep an eye out for other waterfalls along the trail, including Windy Gulch Cascades, Spruce Creek Falls, Fern Falls, and Marguerite Falls.
  • You’ll find vault toilets at the Fern Lake Trailhead. You can also stop by the Beaver Creek Visitor Center, open year-round, for restrooms, souvenirs, WiFi, and a free informative movie on the park’s history.
  • Recommended season(s): Late May-September
