Goblins Forest Backcountry Campsite offers six individual sites on the south side of Alpine Brook off the East Longs Peak Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park. The primitive sites, lying in a spruce and lodgepole pine forest at 10,120 feet, are popular with hikers climbing to the 14,259-foot summit of Longs Peak. The campsite, reached by a short marked path from the main trail, has a privy and water is available from Alpine Brook. Boil or treat water before using and practice a Leave No Trace ethic. Cooking is with stoves only and fires are prohibited. Place tents on established pads to avoid environmental damage and close to a silver arrowhead on a tree. Goblins Forest campsite is 1.2 miles from the Longs Peak Trailhead. Allow an hour to hike to the sites.
Recommended season(s): Year-round. Summer and autumn are best.
