The southeast quarter of Rocky Mountain National Park near Allenspark is home to Wild Basin and many stunning waterfalls. From the Wild Basin Trailhead, it’s about three and a half miles roundtrip to Calypso Cascades on Cony Creek. The falls here are named for springtime Calypso orchids that grow along the creek. You’ll meet the creek and unnamed fall “Lover’s Leaps” at about one and a half miles from the trailhead, then stay on the trail for another quarter of a mile where you’ll turn right at the trail junction to reach the cascades. Three footbridges take you over the top of the falls with views above and below in this beautiful subalpine forest.
