Things To Do
Snowmass is a one-mountain quiver: it offers everything you could want in a mountain. For beginners and kids, there is a wonderful ski school program and plenty of mellow terrain for learning and honing skills. The park rat will have plenty of room to jib in the expansive Snowmass Makaha Park, and even the beginner’s, Lowdown Park. The Poma lift opens up massive terrain in Hanging Valley and the Cirque, boasting amazing steeps and glades that hold powder stashes for days. Looking for a solid run to lap all day? Try Powerline off of Big Burn and Sheer Bliss Lifts, or any of the runs that parallel it. Want a solid leg-burner that doesn’t attract a lot of traffic? Go over to Campground Lift. There’s never a dull moment or a dull part of the mountain at Snowmass. It is a place you can ski for years and never get bored.
Recommended Season(s): The best snow comes in February and March, but be sure to avoid holiday weekends and Spring Break. Spring skiing is also a blast at Snowmass.
