It’s not secret that mountain sports can get a little dangerous, sometimes deadly. Even high profile athletes aren’t spared the risks, despite being the best in the world at what they do. One skier that seems to pop up in the news quite frequently following various incidents and wrecks is Lindsey Vonn, World Cup alpine ski racer on the U.S. Ski Team. While she undoubtedly walks away from a crash safely more times than not, the many painful injuries she has sustained throughout the years predictably find their way to headlines around the world, most recently by severely breaking her arm at Copper Mountain in Colorado.
OutThere Colorado has hunted down a few of Vonn’s more outrageous ski accidents to show you, the reader, the true risks of competing at such a high level in such a dangerous sport.
