That hike was hard. You’ve earned a beer. Whether you just climbed Pikes Peak or you took a quick stroll around the Garden of the Gods, here are a few of our favorite places for a post-hike beer.

1. Trail’s End Taproom

Conveniently located right by Red Rock Canyon Open Space, Trail’s End Taproom caters to the outdoor recreation community of Colorado Springs from giant trail maps displayed inside to the many craft beers they have on tap. The real twist at this bar is that you actually serve yourself. You’ll get a digital card that tracks your drinks and then you’re able to select what you want to drink from a wall of taps, pouring it yourself. Plus, there’s affordable food available, from pizza to brats.

2. Pub Dog

Famous for being “that bar with the dog park,” Pub Dog is the perfect post hike destination if you’ve got a pup in tow. They’ve got great food and drinks and a large space where dogs are able to interact with each other in a safe manner. If it’s a beautiful day and the hike is finished, but you’re not, this is the perfect place to soak up a little extra sun.

3. FH Beerworks

I might be a little biased with this pick as I’ve been stopping here after hikes and bike rides for years – literally since they opened. The atmosphere at FH Beerworks (formerly Fieldhouse Brewery) is super laid back, meaning they don’t mind if you come in a little sweaty. With a friendly staff, great beers on tap, and regular food trucks, this stop should be at the top of your post-hike list.

Note: The newly opened FH Beerworks East is also a great option, conveniently located by Rock Island trail.

4. Cerberus Brewing Company

A brewery with a great patio out front, Cerberus is relatively new to the Colorado Springs area, but it’s already making a great name for itself. The beer is great, the food is great…you really can’t go wrong with this pick.

5. Ivywild School

Alright, this suggestion isn’t really for a specific bar, it’s for an entire complex of options. At Ivywild School, you’ll find ample patio room, yard games, a whiskey distillery, a brewery, a bar, and more. If you’re able to time it right, it’s worth mentioning that this place has some great happy hour deals at most of the stops inside, particularly the Principle’s Office – the bar.

6. Manitou Brewing Company

Perfect for a post-Manitou Incline struggle fest, Manitou Brewing Company is a quaint spot in downtown Manitou Springs with a wide range of beer options and delectable food. I prefer the High Ground IPA and the pork belly tacos.

Bonus: Fossil Craft Beer Company

Located right by Red Rock Canyon Open Space, Fossil Craft Beer Company is a great place to stop if you’re looking for a tasty pint. It’s a little bit smaller than the other breweries on this list, but it’s outdoor patio and great location make this the perfect place to cool off.
