The Telluride Via Ferrata, Italian for “iron road”, is one of Colorado’s most breathtaking routes. It traverses a cliffside high above the town of Telluride and features several hundred foot drops, narrow pathways, and metal rungs as climbing holds. A harness, helmet, and proper tethers and carabiners are required for the traverse. If you’re up for some adrenaline, some technical hiking, and stunning views, the Via is one of the most rewarding adventures in Southwest Colorado.

The route provides amazing views of Bridal Veil Falls’ 365-foot drop.

The most exposed section is called the “Main Event”. During this portion, participants have nothing but iron pegs between them and a several hundred foot drop. The trail is 2.5 miles long and can take anywhere from two to four hours.
