Red Rock Canyon Open Space trails reopened Monday after officials failed to find a bear that a hiker said acted aggressively toward him and his two dogs near the Section 16 trailhead Thursday.

The hiker and his pets weren’t injured, except for scratches the man incurred when he fell.

CPW removed all of its traps so any other bears or other animals in the area wouldn’t be inadvertently injured.
