Vice President Mike Pence chose Vail Valley for his holiday vacation this year, with witnesses reportedly spotting a military jet at Eagle County Regional Airport last Tuesday preceding Pence's Wednesday arrival on Air Force 2.

According to Real Vail, an anonymous source reported that Pence booked a stay at the Lodge at Vail and that members of his party also scheduled skiing lessons at Beaver Creek. It was also reported that Pence brought more than 30 Secret Service agents along for the trip.

Summit Daily reports that Pence hasn't been to Vail since 2018. It's also worth noting that Vail isn't the only place Pence has visited in the Centennial State in recent years, having also visited Aspen in 2017 for a week-long winter vacation.

Colorado State Senator Kerry Donovan, who represents Eagle County, took to Twitter to voice criticism of Vice President Pence and the Trump Administration, referencing a number of issues the COVID-19 pandemic has caused in Vail Valley. She also instructed Pence to "pack a mask," as his hotel is located in a mandatory mask zone. Her comments were met with a mixed reaction.
