Skiing in Colorado can be pricey these days, especially for holiday travelers.

Vail is one of the most expensive ski destinations in North America. In fact, a cheeseburger costs about $17, a beer $9, and a single-day walk-up lift ticket can run at $219 per day.

A lift ticket to ski at Vail this 2019-20 winter season could cost you as much as $219 a day or $189 if you purchase online. A 3-day lift ticket costs about $540.

Adding to the cost of the trip, hotel prices for one night tend to range anywhere from $469 to $3,329, depending on a number of factors including amenities, proximity to the slopes, and dates selected (other lodging options may be cheaper). Tack on food, gas, airfare, equipment rentals, other travel-related expenses and you could be spending more than $1,000 for a single day of skiing.

Here’s a look at online costs of single-day lift tickets at some of the other ski resorts around the state: Aspen ($184 per day), Breckenridge ($173), Keystone ($139), Winter Park ($149), Beaver Creek ($189), Arapahoe Basin ($91.99), Monarch ($84), Crested Butte ($119), Telluride, ($149), Steamboat Springs ($159). Generally, online lift tickets are more expensive during the holiday season, dropping as the end of the season nears (conditions decay during this time, too).

Please Note: Lift ticket rates typically vary by date, day of the week, and method of purchase. Discounts are typically offered for additional days and advanced online booking, especially when peak season dates are avoided.

If you’re ready to hit the slopes this season, please remember to drive carefully. Be aware of dangerous roads and mountain passes in Colorado, especially during inclement weather.
