The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway approaches the summit of Pikes Peak.

The iconic Pikes Peak Cog Railway is set to reopen after years of closure and an extensive overhaul, with tickets now available for those looking to be among the first to experience the upgraded train.

One of only two cog railways in the country, The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway takes riders to the 14,115-foot summit of Pikes Peak during a three-hour round-trip experience that delivers big on mountain views and Colorado sightseeing. It closed in late 2017, with many doubting that it would ever reopen.

Standard admission tickets are $58 for adults and $48 for children if purchased in advance. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate for $59.50, though online ticketing is recommended. Preferred dates, times, and seats are expected to be quickly filled. The first bookable day is May 27.

Find out more about this epic experience on the company website.

Well, you can hike or drive up as well, but it's a pretty unique experience. If you use an oxygen tank, take plenty with you,as purchasing it at the summit is pricey.

Be aware the summit is closed r/t construction right now. It should be open by late May, but Murphy and his Law are immortal.

The ride up on the rail road is probably beautiful, I was there 1956. For a family of 4little over $200 then get some snacks and goods to take home another $50-60 bucks to Expensive, there’s less expensive things to see and do
