Family ski trips in Colorado have long been a tradition for many. It's no surprise that's the case with more than 20 resorts spread around the state, many of which have skiable terrain that caters to all levels and plenty of entertainment options off the slopes.

Club Med recently released their list of the top 50 family-friendly resorts around the world and Colorado is home to multiple resorts that made the cut for inclusion. While no Colorado resort broke the top 10, it's worth noting that there are likely close to 6,000 resorts worldwide.

Leading the pack among Colorado's resorts – and American resorts – was Breckenridge, ranking as the 30th most family-friendly resort in the world. While only 18 percent of Breckenridge terrain is listed as 'beginner,' the sheer size of the resort means that there's a lot of easier terrain present – including much of Peak 9. Breckenridge is also home to a high number of four-to-five star hotels and many family-friendly restaurants.

Two more Colorado resorts also made the list, including Vail Mountain in 33rd and Keystone at 41st. Vail is popular among families thanks to the vibrant ski town built around the slopes, while Keystone is noteworthy for being home to the 3.5-mile beginner-level 'Schoolmarm' run that travels from the top of Dercum Mountain to the base of the resort.

Only one additional American Resort made the list – Mammoth Mountain in California, which ranked 43rd.

It's worth noting that all three Colorado resorts on Club Med's list are owned by Vail Resorts. Vail Resorts has made many efforts to cater to the family experience in recent years.

Do you think another Colorado resort belongs on the Club Med 'best family-friendly ski resorts' list? Let us know in the comments.
