Brace yourself for a cold snap – according to the Weather Channel, next week may bring snow to both Colorado Springs and Denver.

The current 10-day forecast for the Colorado Springs area shows temperatures dropping as low as 27 degrees with a 40 percent chance of precipitation on next Tuesday. The forecast also predicts that this precipitation will mean a mix of snow and rain, likely on the snowier side if the precipitation coincides with the daily low.

Another forecasting service, Wunderground, also calls for snow showers in Colorado Springs on Tuesday with lows of 28 degrees.

The Wunderground forecasting service is also predicting 1.4 inches of snow in Denver next Tuesday, which will likely transition into rain as temperatures warm. Temperatures in the Mile High City are predicted to drop to 31 degrees during this period.

Will the cold weather and snowfall actually appear on September 8 as predicted? We'll have to wait and see.
