UPDATE [4:58 PM]: The Metropolitan State University-Denver campus has reopened. Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred on 5th and Walnut with a suspect in custody.

The Denver campus for Metropolitan State University-Denver has been placed on lockdown on Tuesday afternoon. Details remain scarce.

A tweet sent out by the university at 4:22 p.m. reads: "AURARIA CAMPUS lockdown! All entry doors are locked. Increase your awareness. Run, hide or fight if appropriate."

The MSU-Denver campus is located at 890 Auraria Parkway in Denver, Colorado. Approximately 20,000 undergraduates attend the university.

No other details were released.
