On Wednesday evening, Colorado Governor Jared Polis announced that he plans to extend the statewide mask mandate instead of letting it expire during the upcoming weekend as planned.

A date for when the statewide mask mandate will now be set to expire has not been released.

According to Polis, the decision to extend the mandate is based on data showing that mask wearing has reduced the spread of the virus. According to the state, hospitalizations due to COVID-19 have decreased from a July peak of 275 on July 20 to an August low of 172 on August 13.

This mandate requires face coverings to be worn in indoor public spaces by those 10 and older with few exceptions.

He certainly doesn't respect the need for businesses to be fully open, in order to thrive. Employees of those businesses lose too. There may be deaths from a flu from China, but there is at least equal tragedy in the death of a business which supports multiple families. Yes, we will remember this come voting time.

Polis keeps moving the goal posts to an economic recovery for Colorado. Hope we remember this is 2022.
