Approximately four inches of hail landed on Interstate 70 in Jefferson County during a severe storm on Friday afternoon. The area hit the hardest was near Floyd Hill. This is located just east of Idaho Springs on I-70.

UPDATE: This exit has reopened.

Following the downpour of hail, a mudslide occurred in Clear Creek Canyon, resulting in the closure of Exit 244 at US 6.

Rocks are currently blocking the right lane of the exit, causing delays.

Following the severe weather, there was no immediate estimate of re-opening of the exit.

More severe weather is expected to move into Colorado throughout the rest of the night and over the weekend.
