According to Douglas County Search and Rescue, the body of a missing man named Brian Patterson was located on Saturday, January 16, following a multi-agency search. Patterson had last been seen leaving to ride his ATV on Tuesday, January 12.
On Friday, the vehicle Patterson used to transport his ATV was found at the Dakan OHV Trailhead in Douglas County near Sedalia, helping officials to narrow the search. His body was found the following day.
While few details have been released about what may have caused Patterson's death, foul play is not expected at this time. Patterson was in his 50s.
Condolences go out to the friends and family of Brian Patterson.
Thanks goes out to agencies involved, including the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Douglas County Search and Rescue, neighboring search and rescue teams, and community volunteers.
