A man has been arrested after police say he brutally beat and dismembered two of his roommate's dogs in Florissant, Colorado.

According to the Teller County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew Stephen Dieringer was arrested late Sunday evening on two counts of aggravated animal abuse for the brutal killings of his roommate's two dogs.

Dieringer allegedly beat his roommate's brown 7-year-old Australian Cattle Dog "Suka" to death. He is also accused of killing and dismembering his roommate's black dog "Hayoka." A necropsy confirmed that Suka died of blunt force trauma.

According to a report from KRDO, an animal control team discovered "walls covered in blood with one spot that looked like it had been body slammed," after being called out to the home for a welfare check.

Authorities tracked the suspect in the brutal killings to the Days Inn Motel at Clinton & Geddes in Centennial.

A Facebook post asking for the public's help captured the attention of dog lovers earlier this month, amassing more than 14,000 shares on Facebook.

The Teller County Sheriff's Office thanked the public and other law enforcement agencies for their help in tracking down the suspect.

"It is times like these that remind us all that all life is precious and partnerships with our community and law enforcement partners creates opportunities for great outcomes," the Sheriff's Office stated in a Facebook post.

Dieringer is currently being held in the Arapahoe Detentions Facility on a $10,000.00 cash-only bond. He will eventually be transferred to the Teller County Detentions Center.
