According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department, a "large wildfire" has sparked in the Bear Creek Park area. The fire was first reported on the department's Twitter account at 11:34 AM. Firefighters are on the scene.

The fire is currently burning brush and grass. Structures are threatened. A tweet published 15 minutes later ordered that all homes on Electra Drive to evacuate.

UPDATE: Nebula Court has also been evacuated. All homes evacuated west of Vista Grande Dr. New evacuations have also been ordered for Gold Camp Rd. and Bear Creek Dr. Evacuations may continue to expand. See up-to-date information here.

The public is asked to avoid the area. Information on the exact size of the fire has not been released.
