Denver residents have been ordered to “stay at home” as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to grow around the state.

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock issued the new public health order on Monday, which will go into effect at 5:00 PM on Tuesday and last until at least April 10. Shopping at grocery stores, attending medical appointments, and exercising outdoors will still be allowed while maintaining social distancing.

The order also extends to closing recreational marijuana and liquor stores, playgrounds, golf courses, tennis courts, basketball courts, picnic areas, and other similar areas. Medical marijuana shops are expected to remain open. Restaurants will also continue to provide take-out services.
