The 6-year-old girl who died on an amusement ride in Glenwood Springs on Labor Day has been identified as Wongel Estifanos, the Garfield County coroner announced Wednesday.

Estifanos died on the Haunted Mine Drop at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.

She was a student at Stetson Elementary School in School District 49, officials confirmed Wednesday.

"Wongel was a beautiful, caring and cheerful girl who loves Jesus so much for a 6-year-old girl," the page said. "Her life was cut short in this tragic accident."

Garfield County Coroner Robert Glassmire said park employees initiated first aid until paramedics arrived and determined the girl had died.

The coroner’s office  performed an autopsy of the girl on Tuesday, which found several blunt force trauma injuries on her body. The office said they’re still working to determine the final cause and manner of the girl’s death.
