Bluebird Backcountry near Kremmling will reopen soon after being exposed to COVID-19.

Bluebird Backcountry, North America's first inbounds backcountry ski area, plans to reopen at 8:00 AM on Thursday, January 14th after closing last week due to a staff member who tested positive for the virus

"Our COVID plan continues to evolve as we get more information about the virus to better protect you, our staff, and the season," Bluebird Backcountry said on its Facebook page. "As a result, we’ll be implementing some changes in January 2021 and beyond."

These changes include improved ventilation in buildings, a testing program for staff, cross-training staff, and moving all meetings outdoors. Additional safety barriers will also be placed between staff and guests at check-in and in the rental shop.

"We’re so grateful for your patience as we navigate these uncertain times, and we can’t wait to have you join us this season," the post goes on to add.

Bluebird Backcountry is located on the Continental Divide near Steamboat Springs and Rabbit Ears Pass.

Reservations are required. For more details, please visit bluebirdbackcountry.com.
